Depends is your gq 24v some of the imports are. Local trucks tend to be 12v but you need to check what you have

yes more than likely it will be 12v or 24v if its a shorty import or lwb import.

Several simple ways to check.
Look at your starter battery(ies).
If your starter is a single battery you need 12v
If your starter is two batteries joined together (most likely side by side) you need 24v
(Do not confuse with an auxillary battery setup which will have a solenoid or similar between the two batteries & most likely not side by side)

Alternatively remove a headlight globe to see if it’s marked as 12v or 24v.

If you have a multimeter you could check the voltage across the two battery terminals (+ve on one, -ve on the other) to see if you get 12v or 24v.

So if i only have 1 battery it will be 12v, correct?

Yes.

Regardless of that, 99% you will be 12V, 24V is rare but they are around.

As Winnie says - Yes - Correct.

You don’t get 24v batteries, they are always made up of two or more lower voltage, most commonly 2 x 12v.

Actually..you can get 24v batteries, my old unimog had a single 24v battery. I was looking I to running one in my Safari to free up the second batt tray for an aux battery...but they are not exactly easy to find here in aus unless you want to use a lithium marine battery
