Hi Guys,

I have an issue with my GQ Patrol. I pulled the right rear wheel off and found grease all over the disc brake rotor. I suspect this is just a bearing seal or something. No bearing noise as yet. Easy fix??

Did you grease the wheel studs??
When things like never seize are used they sometimes come out over the rim and disc..

G'day Griffo.
Sounds odd to me as I've not had that in bulk K's over a couple of Patrols.
Siezed one rear wheel bearing but didn't see oil/grease on the spinner prior and when that happens you'll know real quick like.
I'd clean the whole area real good then check to see where it comes from.
I'm probably clutching at straws but maybe rear diff oil has got past any seal or brake fluid is somehow involved. Done any servicing lately???
Luck,
Col

Cheers guys. I will take some pics on the weekend and post em. Will clean it up and see if it's a seal. Don't think it's brake fluid as the level in the tank hasn't moved.

If your Q has a disc rear end it could be the inner oil seal, which is prone to failure.
