Ok im after a bit more boost out of the 3l for towing
the camper,i fixed the seal on the air box a while ago
now seem to not increase the boost past about 11psi
wanting to go a bit higher but not past 14psi
when towing it sits between 8 and ten psi but need a tad more
for the hill climbs ,would putting the ram head back on the
the snorkle make a difference, at the moment im using a pre
filter head wich sucks air like mad

You might need to stretch the Dawes spring a tad, or close the needle valve a 1/4 turn if fitted,, more air wont give more boost IMO.
I peak at 20psi but yet to try towing my camper trailer.
would know more up by the Murray as test tuning so to speak on the way up

Is it the Donaldson Precleaner head you have on there now Roofy? The one with the plastic bowl? If so, the air flow rate is less with those that the ram head. That will be restricting air flow for sure...

Those pre cleaners do a good job at what they are designed for but do hamper flow rate. Pointless for the high country or any road driving though.

Ahem.....high country driving in the summer is as dusty as fark. Especially in convoy.
Mind you, I turn my ram head backwards and that reduces about 80% of the dust to the filter

G'day Roofy,

You could use something like this boost controller which plugs into the wastegate line to control the amount of boost that is released.

You could also put a sock down your snorkel neck to trap dust and still use the ram-head,
Not 100% sure if compatible will TD motors

Hi Roofy old mate, there are a snorkel head filter product you can buy that will help with the dust mate if you are concerned about it, it's a foam pad that fits over the head, seen them on eBay.
