Hey guys, im new to owning a TD42 silver top in a '91 maverick. There is a small spring loaded valve that is mounted on the intake plenum and hosed into the side of the 3" hole which the air comes through post cleaning. Just wanted to know what this valve is and what it is called?? Some kind of air pressure release??

Cheers

A photo might help you mate. Mine is a gu so as far as I can tell doesn't have this valve. But I'd be guessing the same as you and calling it a pressure relief valve of some sort going off your description.

This is the valve i was talking about, as you can see its stuffed, and it threads onto the small hose just behind it which feeds into the side of the intake pipe, any suggestions as to what this is?? can't seem to find any info on it anywhere and its not aftermarket cause there is a mount for it on the intake plenum.

cheers

That could be a sensor that works a light letting you know that the air filter is blocked. Sorry don't know what its called

Air restriction device. It looks like a manual one but the base is missing.

yeah looks like something along those lines, thanks nissannewby, I was just a bit confused as to why nissan don't show it on any of there breakups seeing as it is a factory part
