Hi,
I'm currently experiencing problems with my automatic climate control on my Patrol Y61.
in automatic it will go on full blast heating the cabin when engine temp has risen a bit. When temps set to be 18 degrees C, then it will be full blast cooling the cabin.
The self diagnose on the unit does not show any faults.
could it be the temp sensor in the car being a bit funny?

looking forward to your point of views

Best regards from Norway
Inge Thormodsen

Hi Ingre,

Does the interior fan run at full speed when the climate control panel is switched off?.

Can you manually adjust the interior fan speed?

I can manually adjust the fan, and it is not running when it is switched off

You should be able to check the temp sensor reading via the self diagnoses.

What year model and engine do you have?

2001 model GR 3.0 DI

I will have a look at the manual when I get to my other computer a bit later tonight.

Have you checked the ambient temp sensor? How long has this problem been happening for? Has the vehicle been involved recently in an accident?

no, I have not checked the ambient sensor, is that the one in front of the radiator?
No accidents, happened abt 3 months ago. was OK for shorter periods, but not working at all now.

Yes is the sensor in front of the radiator, between the radiator and front grill.

When you have the climate control set to manual hot, does it blow hot air out the vents?

When you have the climate control set to manual cold, does it blow cold air out the vents?

yes, but went out and checked again now, had failure code 22, and that should be the in- vehicle sensor if I'm correct?

It sounds like you have the workshop manual, follow the flow chart for that code.

will try to fix this, sorry for bothering you with this, but the fault did not exist last time I did the diagnosis. Thanks for your help

Yendor, thanks for your support. It was a faulty soldering on the sensor.
Yes I found the manual on google while you where trying to help me

Glad you got it sorted. Intermittent electrical problems can be a real PITA to find. Well done mate.

If you get a chance post up some pictures of your Y61.
