Auto Transmissions in 3.0's

Can people give me some first hand feedback on the 3.0 auto transmissions? are they problematic like the auto's in the GQ's?

Service it once a year and you should be fine

I've had no problems so far. My Gu 3 ZD30 auto has done 12,3000 klm ( I have done the last 10,000 klms ) No
problems, everything ok when I had it first serviced after buying it. Shifts are smooth - holds gear well etc
Last service I had the transmission fluid changed to full synthetic ( supposed to be better for trans temps etc ).
As threedogs says make sure it's regularly serviced.

What about the lock up solinoid, I've heard people having heaps of greif with their GQ's locking and unlocking, not locking at all and other wierd issues. is the Auto in the GU Problem free compared to the GQ?
