The missus ran a load of washing and had her keys in a pocket now the damn thing won't work.:1087:

I've separated the key key from the remote so the missus can keep using it and put the remote in a container full of moisture absorbing crystals for about 2-3 weeks and nothing, this usually works for if my phone gets wet but apparently not for keys.

Has anyone got there keys wet and they stopped working then came good?

Or has anyone got any recommendations for where to get the remote replaced?

I always pull any electronic stuff apart as soon as it gets wet and pull battery out, then dry it with a hair dryer or sit on top of a heater.
Mate of mine had a brand new iPhone in his pocket then fell into a creek and saved the phone by doing the same...doesn't always work but mostly does

Mm possibly, if the battery is removed would it reset it? As I've opened it up and pulled the battery.

I just bought a remote for my wifes Falcon from Mr Minit in the local shopping centre ( around $70 - $80, as opposed to Ford at $100 ). It is identical to the factory remote, and wouldn't be surprised if it was a factory part.

I did see Nissan Keys as well ( and remotes )....

I used this exact procedure on my wife's Pulsar and worked first up for two fobs. Good luck.

I'll give it a go on the weekend but I'll try it with just the broken key but the way I read it is that it will wipe the existing code so I might have to reset both keys ?

If the washed key fob works you won't need to reset the working fob. I did both because we only had the one that broke, do you have a chip on the key itself? Not sure if the wash will affect that.

Yea the chip is on the key itself and the wife is using it still and the remote is separate.

Ok so were up for a new remote, I've tried a new battery and the key reprogram fob procedures and nothing .. Apparently it's not transmitting.

So who knows where I can get a replacement, and I'm praying I don't have to go to those thieves ..... Sorry I mean
Nissan...

I made the mistake of buying one on ebay from UK, it would not program and because i did not try to get it programmed for a few months after buying it i could not get my money back so cost for me was
$120 for key that did not work, $50 to try and get it programmed and $270 for key from Nissan.
