Hi Guys,
Just seen a patrol with spotties mounted on the top of the Bull bar.
What is the law on spotties that protrude above the bonnet.

Thanks,

Neil.

It is illegal.

Mounted at own risk.

It is illegal.

Mounted at own risk.

Plus it looks horrible too.
There a bloke around here with a Q and he has two of the Narva Taurus 230MM Bull lamps on top of his bar with blue covers.

The further out of town you get, the more prominent the 'stadium lighting" gets. And it's also useful, although it turns into a disadvantage in town with pedestrians.

Illegal every time, however I think they have come up to date with led lighting allowing a large single or double row light bar on your roof;
Nothing wider than 30mm on top of the bulbar, it obstructs your view

There comes a place when legalities take a back seat to practicality. You can fit more lights in when you have above and under the top bar on the bull bar to play with.

I'm guessing the car is a visitor to the Op"s area if he doesn't see these much?

Are you allowed to have them mounted to roof racks?

not 100% sure but if questioned just call them "work lights"
They are supposed to have an external switch I think.
Mego has a pile of lights on his roof rack , and I have a 4' light bar
never been stopped or asked about it yet, touch wood
