I'm looking at putting lights on my roof rack, how did you mount your lights and what lights are they?

I got IPF800 series lights, 3 spot and 2 spread beams.
They are mounted to the rack using rack light brackets.

Sort of like this, but not these, ARB fitted and supplied all bits.

I'd be going a light bar these days rather than discreet lights.....

A couple of pics :-)
Definitely a roof rack and steel bar the first two items. I already have an awning and roof top tent on my td GQ so they will be swapping over.

I will also be looking at making the engine not grenade itself ! I read a fair few different opinions about how to rectify so i need to choose carefully .... anyones experience is more than welcomed..... also i live in the Toowoomba region so if there are any known mechanics etc that are actually good..... please let me know.
Cheers

Paul

Depends what you want to use it for, you can turn it into a Billy goat if that's your thing, or a very good touring set up.
Remember LED will make life a lot easier these days, as for lights on the roof , you cant go past a light bar,
Your driving lights {HID} will give you distance.
Try to keep the weight down as you go, its very easy to have an over weight Patrol on your hands.
Ask first as there is a hell of a lot of knowledge here on what works and what wont,
For me an awning and LED strip light is a cheap option for shelter.

Give MUDSKI a PM for all your NADS bits and pieces.
First I'd be fitting a boost and EGT gauge to see whats happening under the bonnet

Thanks threedogs..... will definitely be a tourer not billy goat. Might have to keep the GQ for that :-D
i like your led strip under the awning .... a great idea!!!!
Will give MUDSKI a hoi re the NADS
Thanks
