South Brisbane Storms

There is a group on facebook called South Brisbane Storms who posted this today;

"Severe Thunderstorms are likely tomorrow in the whole SE QLD coast district as a strong SE change pushes up from the south during the day. An upper trough will also destablise the atmosphere even further creating the potential for DAMAGING/DESTRUCTIVE wind gusts and large hail.

This could possibly be one of the most active storm days we've seen for quite some time and it should also be very hot again ahead of the change.

The Gold Coast might see some action late morning or early afternoon then the focus should shift northwards during the day and should be up around the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay by evening-ish.."


It could make for an interesting day, and the storm chasers are already wetting themselves with excitement!

It's bizarre mate - now it's bloody cool like a mid spring day?? We had a bolt of lightning hit the deck somewhere close last night as it knocked out the power and we all heard the "kzzz .... CRACK" as it hit - kids were all in bed an it scared the bejeezers out of them ...

I think it's time we all got used to this being normal in the future ... no fun ...

Doesn't look like it mate - that said, if you check the 28 day forecast, EVERY day except the 1st is listed as HIGH chance of rainfall for the entire month of March ... fun, fun, fun ...
