Just back as we had a previous 1200 commitment on Australia Day and didn't know how long it would take us to get back. Wish we could have stayed longer, excellent time. I think I might have a slipping clutch from the up/down/up/down woop de doos on the road to Kris's... Anyway we road as passengers for the Friday run. After a nice drive a few decided to test the waters .. the leader didn't make it through the first crossing
54294
the rest of the lemmings followed with varying success on the southward journey, I believe it was 50/50..
On the north sojourn, the leader lead by example... others not so.
542955429654297
Rossco and BloodyAussie sacrificed their bodies to get a great mud treatment getting the northbound stragglers out.
To add a bit of salt.. the cookout on Saturday was excellent, all the food was great and the 55 mm (I had a semi-official glass jar set out) of rain prior too the serving keep everyone warm cramped under the couple of emergency gazebo's put up.

It's very nice and the hosts were very generous in having us there. The south 40 won't be doing much haying this year given the doughnuts left and probably visible at the ISS.
There were a couple of better equipped photographers there and apparently between the two of us we have pictures across 4 devices.
Last two from me, I'm sure there will be a lot more and we have that silly 1200 function.

Well been home about 20 minutes. Another big day in the car.
kris and Fiona thank you for your hospitality and generosity, we had an amazing weekend. Was fantastic that there was a great group of kids the right age for both my kids to want to spend time out of camp playing like we once did as kids. No thought to where they might be and confident that they were having a great time in a safe environment in the Dirt and the Rain. Loved it.
Oh how I wish your property was closer mate, I'd be all over that!!! What an amazing spot you have. Congratulations and well done bud. Simply paradise. Damn you for living in Canberra though! Broadford would have been awesome.

I've got none but Rossco took heaps. So you'll see them in 6 months Hahaha.
We left Rossco yesterday as he headed into the bush and we'll meet him again at Mallacoota probably Thursday
He also took a heap of good ones inside the cave we went into. Let's hope he gets organized.
Ha Ha Yes Yes very good!!
Arrived at Mallacoota this arvo after a couple of days exploring around Deua National Park- pretty cool spot and slowly cruising down the the coast. Heading home on sunday and will get some photos up then as they are all on the camera.
That spot round Potato Point was pretty cool - very different country. Looks like your home now, hope the rest of your trip was good winnie + amy (+diesel)
Thanks to Krisso + Fiona for the weekend and sharing your property. Wow what a lucky score that place is, it's bloody amazing.

Yeah did the walk to the big hole and marble arch, pretty impressive. Drove into Bendethera valley and stayed the night there on the Deua river. Beautiful spot reminded me of Wonnongatta valley with cleared areas in the valley surrounded by mountains. Plenty of river crossings too and awesome drive out along the Mercumbene fire trail. Steep sections but easy drive with great views to the coast and mountains.

My grandparents are selling their part of the farm (it was only a yearly holiday place anyway as they live in Adelaide).
Just shy of 50 acres, about 40 of which is cleared, fenced farm land, the rest is old growth forest, has a big old shed and a small one bedroom dwelling, completely surrounded by kilometres of old growth crown land (which is way better than national park). 20 minutes drive from wynyard, about 50 mins from devonport. Two dams and a natural spring. Half on a hill with great views. Approval has just been given for a large 4 bedroom house. On a dead end road with only one person living past it. Set back off the road......etc etc..... 200k and it's yours

Yeah was a bit of a death march, did 20K that day 12 to marble arch & back then 8 up to the Bendethera caves & back from the valley. Was good tho, a few creek crossings on the caves walk, ended up with a few cheeky leeches at the end. Was good tho. . .
