Seeing as I'm kinda back, thought I'd show ya my girl.
1999 GU TD42
Gas Injected
18 months of searching Australia wide, found this one 30 minutes from home.
Had no off road at the time. Mag wheels, A/T and lift kit was all she had.

Day of pick up, in Roofy's drive way.

Welcome back:smiley_thumbs_up:,

Is that a powerful 4x4 rear bar ? If so how'd it go with the corrugations? And is the latch vertical or horizontal?

Yep I'm the same, we got ours under warranty after a rear end prang.

The old ones like mine have the latch pointing up and the catch is horizontally mounted on the rear bar, being horizontal and with corrugations the catch eventually breaks off.

The newer bars have been changed so that the catch is vertical and holds on without holding the load of the tyre.

Haha, buy a silver one and Nev will never know. After all he cant even dress himself properly !!
I am so tempted with No plates, but I think drawers are more important ATM. And I just got $350 bill from mechanics !

Mine is vertical, pulled the end caps off today to fit reverse camera and found the arms are full of rust !! Out with the drill tomorrow.

Your lucky it sounds like a newer bar then, not good news about the rust! I might have to look at mine also!
