Hi all. Though I would introduce myself. Been watching the forum for a while and finally joined. Bought an 05 GU last year and using it for touring. Mainly for the clearance but occasionally need the 4WD. Consider myself new to off road as I have been out of it for about 20 years. Used to drive a Land cruiser in the 90's and also on volunteer fire brigade for about 5 years, also LC but one Nissan. Put 80 gallons of water in the back of those things and it makes driving interesting.
Anyway, have now got a touring vehicle and for those who know WA spent the first week after purchase in Menzies, Lake Ballard and all that area. We are off to Esperance and Ravensthorp next month for a week to check out the area. Signed up for a tag along tour off road in the national parks so I can get the feel of it again.
Like to do what I can myself on the vehicle, but have had a double hip replacement so am restricted a bit on working under the chassis. Got to make sure I have a helper to pass tools or everything I could possibly want within reach as getting up and down is not the best option.
