Gday Everyone!

Been looking throughout the site for some time as we have been wanting a Patrol for a while, especially since we borrowed the brother in laws GU for family holidays to Rainbow Beach @ New years, but now finally, we've become members and FINALLY looks like we are getting our butts into a GQ in the next few days give or take!

We have put a deposit down on a 1990 GQ ST, 4.2 N/A Diesel 5 speed, Black on silver paint, cloth interior 7 seater, new 31's on white sunnies.

Would of taken delivery already, but during a test drive, a really bad vibration was happening between 90-110kmh!

It wasn't tyres, it felt like another form of vibration or harmonic so the car yard needs to fix this and a couple of other minor things, but all in all she was a nice truck and even my brother in law (whom is a mechanic) was impressed with its condition, a lot better than his GQ off road challange truck we are building.
For peace of mind, we will also be getting a pre purchase written report done by a 3rd party once the repairs are done, just in case there is something we have missed.....

So im happy to be here and looking forward to be apart of the Forum.

Regards
Dave & Gemma

Hi guys

Just in a rush and without researching I thought I'd ask a quick question.

Will 6 stud landcruiser 16" sunnies (off a troopy type wagon, not up to speed with cruisers sorry) fit on the GQ??

Reason I ask is the car yards mechanic is still trying to fix this vibration issue, and they have kind of fixed it with a good balance and alignment etc but there is still a vibration there so they wanna put another set of wheels and tyres on, and this particular cruiser I was talking about has a better set and brand of tyres on it that the gq has which are westake brand.

Anyway, will the cruiser rims fit? Got told the centre hub hole is possibly a different size but stud pattern the same?

Cheers
Dave

welcome matey, nice looking GQ you have found..i thought the rims could fit either toyo or Nissan mate from what I can remember reading..if you want a answer quickly go wack it in the tyre and wheel section as not a lot of people read the intro's mate..
