Yes... and modern Auto's absolutely kill Manuals in the Country, in the Sand, in the Mud, Rockcrawling and Hill Climbing. Their only weakness (factory compared to factory) is in Hill descents but with an experienced Driver and/or a bit of tweaking and you can solve that problem as well.

Absolutely mate - have had 6 fourbies and this is my first auto. As ET said, plenty I can do to fix up some off road issues, but around town (and on the beach) I'd never go back to manual.

Not having driven a modern Auto I cannot comment on them but they would have to a damm site better than the Autos in the Patrol in the early 90's. They were not geared low enough and tended to chase gears in the Mud. I have always driven Manuals in my Patrols but I can imagine that with advancement in technology the modern Autos would be different to the ones that I have driven. Still love playing with the old Gear Stick

If I had lived in the city I would have got a auto, but being a country kid I have a manual.. I can see the upside in a auto however I love my manuals, maybe later in life I will change over.. I don't mind changing gears all the time lol
