Its good to see a thriving community of 4x4 loving people on here, My names James and I'm from the mid north coast, just bought my first Patrol its a GU series 8 DX wagon that had 28000 ks on the clock, it was at a bargain price and the difflock as standard won me over. since owning it I have added a powerful 4x4 steps (installed myself, its a pain getting that last support bolted up beside the sub tank!) added a cheap snorkel off ebay which fitted up really well and I have been happy with the results and no it didn't make my fuel economy worse in fact it has improved slightly, I have also chipped it using a black performance tuning box (still dialling it in at the moment), I intend to do a 3 inch exhaust but I want to keep it quiet and as close to legal as possible plus going stainless steel, its a toss up between that or a winch as next mod.
Its first big trip was a week of camping and 4wding at Barrington tops then went down through scone to Orange for more adventuring and camping.

I was getting 11-12 liter per 100 before snorkel and im sitting on 10lp/100ks
