Hi guys, just looking for some advise. I own a 2003 3l td GU it's pretty much stock we have just returned from a trip across The Simpson Desert and the truck preformed great. But we are now thinking about getting a caravan or camper trailer. I was wanting to hear people's thoughts on towing, should I get a chip and exhaust fitted for a bit more grunt or should I consider something bigger. Would I be putting to much on the 3L towing something? Thanks in advance guys.

Mate I have a 3 lt and tow nearly every day , weather it be a tool trailer or camper . I have put a bigger exhaust but no chip at this stage you could never have to much power . I find it a little sluggish on hills dropping back to 3 gear but nothing to bad . I have seen grey nomads pull massive trailers with boats on top with navaras , which was my last car and doesn't come close to the patrol

Stretch has been pulling his 2t caravan for years without any mods, but has recently added the chip and also upgraded the intercooler as the stock one sh*t itself, but not done exhaust yet.
Definitely a ship load better then stock with the add ons.
