UHF 17 you bone heads..... its always 17.

Ok I will go through this again for the kids that were not paying attention...

we aim for heading out Saturday morning we should be setting off for a drive by 9.30am and getting back no later than 1pm to start the bbq and get the spit going.

Then Sunday morning those that still want to go and play can do so.

This meet was always about the bbq and spit and catching up..

Mate I'm a first timer for the meet as well, so your not the only one :)

And don't worry about your patrol been too stock, plenty of driving can be done in a stock patrol. If I was to wait till I had my patrol setup the way I wanted it I would never drive the damn thing ;)

Sooty_10,
The only reason why I say that is because I know how deep some of the ruts are and I might get stuck on the diffs, anyway glad to see another newbie.

Not getting into the do's and donts right now but will have a chat about those so called recovery points tomorrow.

Ok I have spoken to Matty and the main drive will be pretty basic as there will be far too many cars to be getting into the shit.. later that arvo a few may sneak off for a more serious drive but that is for cars kitted out and experienced drivers.

I also just spoke to AB and I think he will still be coming but will know more late this arvo.

Those that dont have a heap of experience 4wding can you please come and see me in the morning so we can go over a few things... dont be shy.

Ok I forgot about the disclaimer and cannot edit the first post.... if a mod can stick this is the first post!!

This is not an official club meet up it is a bunch of mates getting together for a beer, bbq and a bit of driving about.

Now if you get hurt or damage your car the onus is on you and in no way is NP.com liable as it only provides a forum in which mates can arrange to meet up.

Most of us know what to expect but there a many new faces and you need to be aware that you come of your own free will and there is always a risk of damage..

Ok folks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have any concerns come and speak to me... cheers!!!

Those coming from Bacchus Marsh side if you hit the 80kmh zone in Bullengarook you have gone to far.

Remember the sign is on the corner of Gisborne - Bacchus Marsh Road & Coffeys Road, Bullengarook.

OK, I'm finally home from work and thought I'd share the few videos and pics I managed to take before going to bed.

First of all, thanks all for attending and specifically thanks to those for organizing this as well as Matty for giving us the land to have the meetup / camp on. I had a blast even though I couldn't stay for the whole day/evening. It was awesome meeting new faces and putting names to usernames, although I'll admit I'm pretty sure I've mixed people up, and still can't pin usernames to some of the faces. The quick run in the mud we had was awesome! Good portion of Wombat dirt is in my driveway right now...

Anyways pics and videos.

Just got home. Wow! Wow! Wow!

To those that missed it.............Sux to be you!

Went out late last night with Matt for a run into town for some more heat beads, we rolled back in the gate beside the huge fire and both commented and what an amazing sight it was to see a Huge bunch of people around the fire chatting and drinking. No music and it wasn't missed.

The kids had a Ball and once the boys got over the introductions they ran a mock for 2 days!!! Great stuff.

Plenty of great tracks. Yesterday Arvo we went for a harder drive and ended up winching 6 out of 9 cars up a hill less than 1km from Matts house!!! Awesome spot!

Matthew and Sarah! Thank you so much!! I am going to invite myself again. There must have been 15 camp sites last night and easily could have had another 20 and still not been on top of each other.

George!! Mate your a legend!!! The meat was insane! As predicted by George people grazed on it all night, it was continuously cooking and as it was cut it was consumed like a pack of seagulls at the beach! All the way to midnight when the last pieces fell off the spit!!

Jonny!! Turn the Farking Sausages!!

Had a great time. Stoked to see so many wives and kids turning up too.

Thanks everyone!

Well what a DAMN FINE weekend.

Thanks everyone for the thanks lol. It was our pleasure to host this weekend and I wouldnt hesitate to do it again anytime soon.

The place was left perfect except for 1 thing but I have a far idea who it was and I will PM a few ppl about that one soon. Nothing major just didnt have to happen either.

I had a ball out on the tracks. VERY happy everyone enjoyed what we done and I had a ball on the arvo run. Was hard work and big thumbs up to Gary and Darren for helping those through with a winch and advise.

Huge thanks to George, his brother and Jonathon for organising cooking and serving up that awesome meat.
Huge thanks to Kev for that Portaloo. Made things alot better I think.

Some of those pics are great. Really show up the steepness of some of those hills.

Thanks again guys loved every minute of this weekend. Was well worth the flight home for this hahaha.

Yep. I had a ball. Albeit a short stay for me. Great to meet some new faces and see the same old ugly ones. I went shotgun with Mego. Sat in comfort and style of his leather seats. They are really comfy though. Hard to sneak out a fart on them though.:o
Well done to BA, Mathew, George, Kev and to whoever else made this happen.
Crates GQ is a bloody animal. I'm not petrol head but the sound of a V8 in a Patrol is bloody good. Nic, mate, you had me in stitches. Your a pisser when your drunk. George, you spent way to much time at the spit, but thank you. It was awesome. I had dinner, the spit was going pretty much all night. I felt a bit peckish, it would simple go a pick a piece of meat to two.
I just wish I didn't have to work Saturday morning and today. My limited time I had there was exceptional.

Glad you enjoyed mate. I'm not sure what happened but hope its all good

Thanks guys & girls, was great catching up with with many I haven't seen for some time and also meeting some new members. Had a great time, pity I was so crook as I would have loved to spend more time there - especially having a crack at the spit, looked and smelled great. Certainly some quality Nissans there, damn more mods I really need.

Thanks again Matt and family for hosting.

To the nissanpatrol.com.au family.
Thank you all for everything. The food was delicious, (even the snags) location was perfect and the company was great.

I had a chance to put a few names to faces, but better to get to a few more meets just so I don't forget and add some more.

Good to hear that the donations covered to cost of the dunny.

I read in a earlier post that Mudski arranged the raffle. Well I don't know what the others got but I'm wrapped with my prize. Thanks AB and Mudski.

As for the driving, well I haven't been out bush driving in three years. What can I say l had a ball. Tyres, lift and snorkel. Bring on the $$$$

Well done everyone for a such a brilliant effort.. so many helped out.

Unlike our traveling trips into the high country where you just pack for yourself this involved a little help from a lot more people.

Ok here goes..... Matty for the venue and hospitality..

George and Billy for the food preparation and cooking a beautiful lamb and chicken and also Harry (there dad) for the spit.

Kevin for organising the dunny which included picking it up and dropping it off... that made a big difference.

Mudski for the raffle and Both AB and Mudski for donating the prizes.

Sean for supplying all the bread..

A special mention to Kris and family and Nic and Tegan for coming such a long way to help make it such a brilliant event (the sausage was to die for and believe I thought of killing so I could eat more)

Then there was just all the help from just about everyone... Mego collecting wood on his car (who'd a thought it) the people who helped with the spit and on and on it goes.........

A Very very special mention and a big one for me was Winnie letting me drive his car but I am ashamed to say I damaged it and it was not my proudest moment.. I hope Darren has a right rear tail light otherwise let me know and I will order one this week... thanks again Winnie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To the new members that turned up I hope you enjoyed yourself and were not scared away by the loud louts.... I dont think Ben was.

Crate for bringing his Holden along so as to entertain as.. good value.

These events just seem to get better and better all the time.

Now I have to put my head down now and get on with reality...blah

I would also like to thank my little brother who came out of his way to help me with the spit but ended up taking care of it while we went for a play and ended up staying longer than intended and was late for the plans he had made that night... I was up at 6am strutting around the camp in my jocks trying to find my car that Nic had hidden on me the night before.

It wasn't so much the worry of finding the car, more of a case of severe 6am bowel movements and my toilet paper was in the gq.

If he had left his hat and socks outside the caravan that would of served me well for an emergency dump...lol

49352

49353

49354

Crate had a good go at the left hand track, but got off line near the top. Would have been a good drive if not but was super soft and loamy.

49355

Gary drove the middle track with relative ease.

49356

AB second last to go up got way off line on the right hand track. Again super soft and loamy and off camber. Have to say it was a pretty impressive drive, gave it a red hot crack as always!! Off line, getting seriously slippery still committed then it got way off camber slid off the track and then slid down clipping a tree on the way!! Good times!!

49360

49364

49363

Jono in Winnies car. Had a couple of go's of the middle track but was getting pretty wet and slippery by this stage (last car, 9 in convoy I think). I walked back to the front of the pack while Gary was rescuing AB on the right hand track. Jono then followed which is where the stump came out in first against Winnies rear quarter. Not your fault tho Jono, the track was getting pretty bad by now and was way off camber with no ruts to follow. Gary to the rescue here again!!

Back home and time for some cleaning!

Yeh was just trying to compare the differences in which ones made it and if they all had lockers and if any of the ones that had lockers didn't make it.

Only Rosco and I drove it I think.
Rosco made it without lockers and 35 MUDs he was at the front.
I made it with lockers and 33 MUDs I was in the back half of convoy.
Crate winched as his car wasn't working well.
Track was worn smooth before we started it hard packed clay very slippery

ok guys the lil issue I raised before has been resolved. Thanks to those for the conversation about it.

I'm still wrapped with how the place was left. There was no rubbish left around, no trenches been dug in paddock from tyres. Just very happy everyone treated it like it was their own.

Wouldn't complain about making this a regular thing. Either every few months, yearly whatever. I reckon its a great central place some of our country vic guys can make and also close for all across melb.

Loved the company and had a ball. whats not to like hehe
