Hey everyone, this is my 1990 Nissan GQ Patrol High-roof wagon. Purchased it last weekend with 262000 k's on the clock, TB42 auto with petrol/gas, factory extras included a sun roof, rear drop sway bar and rear diff lock. Only mods I found were an aftermarket long-range fuel tank and Bilstein shockies. Plan on turning it into a capable tourer, put some 2" lifted springs in it yesterday and plan on a snorkel, 33's, a false floor set up in the back and waterproofing the dizzy before I take it out on the tracks. All help will be greatly appreciated!!

Nice looking truck. Any rust around the sunroof?

Hey mate, there is a tiny bit on the edge yes, and a little bit at the top of the front windscreen but certainly repairable!

Looks great , my mate fitted a compressor from a set of air horns in the engine bay and drilled a hole in the side of the dizzy.
He had some arrangement to lower the pressure,
Everytime he did a water crossing or similar he would hit the toggle switch and pressurize to dizzy so no water would enter.
Never failed him once, I had a similar set up an a HEI dizzy
Always wanted a GQ diesel auto, how do they go??

Hey mate, this one is a TB42 Petrol, haven't really been able to test it yet, the alternator failed on the weekend so I've been tracking down another one! Keen to set it up before I do any tracks :D

Got myself an alternator Friday and fitted it that night ready for a trip to the snow on Saturday!! Gave the 4wd and factory rear locker a workout in some deeper than expected snow and all worked well!

My 28" Light bar and 30mm rear coil spacers arrived this week! Mounted and got the lightbar going tonight, still a bit of tidying up to do but it is a good thing! As for the coil spacers hopefully I'll be slotting them in within a week or two to get it sitting nice and level! If anyone has some 33x12.5 tyres they're about to replace or looking to get rid of I'll be interested! As long as they've got enough tread for more traction than my shitty bald at's I'll be happy!

Tried out some 35's for size yesterday, looked 300% tougher! I reckon I'll stick to buying some 33's so I dont have to lift it any higher and avoid guard rub without chopping :)

Finally found a good deal on some tyres! Picked up these 305/70R16 BF Goodrich KM2's with around 70% tread on 16x10 Mickey thompson alloys, very happy!

Sorted out the set up for the rear of the Patrol for storage/camping, I'm certainly not a builder but fairly happy with my effort!

Got the snorkel sorted this weekend! Had a mate tig me up some 3" stainless and I'm pretty happy with it! A fair bit of modification to the terribly sealed intake was necessary but it turned out great and I'm pretty confident it won't be taking in any water! 49505

Been a fair while since an update! The big girl was off the road for a couple of months due to transmission issues. Had the auto out twice, ended up being quoted $4000 for a rebuild and there wasn't many second hand auto's floating about so I done a manual conversion! Zero hassles in the install and costed me around $700 to do, that includes gearbox, clutch, flywheel, oils and other components necessary. Completely different vehicle now and I have zero regrets for doing it. It took me 5 hours by myself to remove the auto and me and a few mates a friday night and saturday arvo to install the whole conversion. We had the patrol up on 4 car ramps and a big transmission jack and got it done fine :clapping:
