Found a cargo barrier out of a prado at the wreckers and made it fit. I think I will remodel it a bit more to make it vertical. This will give me more useable space behind the rear seat to fit a water tank and recovery gear

nice one mate, how do you find the rhino platform?

Hey Clunk, so far so good with the rhino platform. I've carried a couple of inflatable paddle boards, a quick shade and the kids bikes up there on my last camping trip. I really like how easy it is to move the eyelet mounting points around to suit the load. It came with 3 sets of mounting feet but I picked another set up for $10 at a market to help spread the load.

Relocated the vacuum stuff under the bonnet and removed the cradle/bracket to make room for the second battery installation. Had a bit of an "blonde" moment when I had no brakes after the mod. No biggie, just had the vacuum check valve in backwards !

Yeah stropp, the financial controller just got the credit card bill for the month and pulled the handbrake on ! Luckily I had just ordered some h4 headlight upgrades before the credit card was removed from my wallet :-)

Cargo barrier remodeled to make a more effective storage space behind the second row seats. I chopped about 150mm off the top, took the bends out of the tubing with the hydraulic press and rewelded the lot. Made up some new bottom and top mounting brackets

Don't want to ask a stupid question. But is the bottom bracket fixed to the cargo barrier. ?

Ahhh....the bottom of the barrier is currently held in the brackets by gravity and a bit of flex :-) not ideal but I was in a rush to get it in by the friday arvo deadline. Im happy to report that it doesn't move or rattle at all, probably due to the very short top mounting arms. I will weld it all in but that will be next weeks job.
