timing a td 42

Hi guys,could some one tell me what timing mark i use on the harmonic balancer on a td 42 silver top,i have fitted a new fuel pump on it and cannot get it started,the guy at Cornells told me i need to time it on the advance mark on the front pulley,i have done that but it still will not start,any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update :I have managed to get the specs from Denco diesel and it is tdc,no wonder it wont start,that guy at Cornells has given me a bum steer,cheers.
