I use the small disposable bottles only for very small tig jobs jobs that will cost mega bucks to get done. The tap that I have is not regulated either. It seems that you have to rush to get the welding done before the gas is gone. I was thinking of bolting some to the chassis as tanks for the Old Trol's air compressor.

600 litres of argon at 6-8 l/minute for tig or 12-18 l/ minute of mig sees plenty of welding. Not bad at all
