Hi just introducing myself
my name is mark and my gq is a ti model that when I bought it had a 2"body lift dual fuel and head had 7 cracks in it that I find out the old owner trued to silicone up one of them

Since then I have changed suspension and re-built a tb42 to replace the stuffed engine this time I had the head built with satellite valves and the engine has been built to be able to handle high boost and gas

after installing the engine I also put new cooling system in and spared no expense I would have spent close to $8000 just to get it running again and then my new thermostat seized shut near on cooking my engine

I have almost gotten my car reliable enough to take offroad now that the motor has been run in and all the troubles seem to be ironed out the last thing I have to do is plate my quarter chops and install my 4 " suspension and then im set for the offroad adventures im itching for with the glasshouse at my back door

I installed a pertronix kit today including the flame thrower coil and I have an extended rotor button as well I have never pulled a distributor out to ever get it running right again but this time somehow I fluked it. I put it back in after the kit went in and it was right where I had it before at 12 for gas advance but I can't get it to idle at less than 1200rpm so really timing was set at 1200rpm not the recommended 650 I think it is I turned the idle screw and nothing happened and I turned the air / fuel mixture screw till it started to chugg then turned it back till smooth does anyone know how to get it to idle at less than 1200rpm as the idle screw doesn't want to drop the idle and how far out would idle be if sdt at 1200rpm not 650

Hey mate I just noticed your thread is under the introductions section.

You might be missing a lot of answers and help from members as a lot don't read the intro section.

You should start a members ride thread or out any questions in their correct category so others can help you if need be mate.
