just bought a new o2 sensor the wire coming out of it is about 150mm long then a plug my problem is the corresponding plug on the car is about a meter away. what can I do here. kev tb42e

How is it a meter away??? is your o2 sensor further down the system... just lengthen the wire but make sure is is heat protected.

what I got was the only one with one wire the plug in the car is up top tied to the side. the o2 sensor is set behind the weld from the extractors looks like a bodgy wire connected from down the bottom to the top

No harm in re doing all the wire to a good single wire... if its all shit start again.

I have had 1 person tell me its stainless wire and im corncerned that putting a join in like that will not give best reading

You don't need special wire for an O2 sensor signal. I use the narrowband signal from my wideband gauge and it's a flimsy thin wire like they use on toy train connectors.
Any half decent tinned wire with good crimped connections will do the trick. It's only a 0 - 1v signal.
