Hi fellow patrola's I am trying to find the cause of thumping in the driveline since I had the clutch replaced
I have checked the gearbox mount , engine mounts and they seem o.k
pedders have checked the suspension but they couldn't really fault it except for general wear although they wanted to replace every bush on the car for a grand
had a gearbox / diff specialist check it and all they did was recommend reconning the tailshaft which I did but nothing has changed the thump is still there
the thump is noticeable when getting on and off the gas like im getting backlash but to me it feels like a broken gearbox mount thumping through the floor
is the new clutch showing up all the wear and tear on all the suspension arms and shocks
ive been at this for over 6 months and I am not going to pay any more so called specialists 2 or 3 hundred bucks a pop to say they don't know

any help would be appreciated cheers, Shep

Shep besides the bushes check your radius arm bolts and the diff bracket for elongation

Are you punching big power, and can you feel that thump through the pedals

no big power just standard 4.2 petrol and the thump feels like it comes through the floor and seat

I will check the radius bolts and diff brackets
also any recommendations for a suspension bush kit type and supplier

I know you said you checked the engine mounts, but unless you physically removed them to check, then they may appear ok.

Mine had a horrible driveline clunk, engine didn't appear to want to jump out of the bonnet and this was the cause...

Mine had a redundancy feature that stopped the engine moving in the event of a mount failure,
Hence why the engine didn't bounce around like I thought it should with a failed mount.
