Hi fellow members. We have recently purchased our first Patrol, 2013 coil cab 3L. Always wanted one and am so far very pleased with it (only a little over 2000k's on it at the minute). Had the mandatory bull bar, side rails and steps, driving lights and electronic brake controller fitted, standard tires will do until they're worn out. On the lookout for a storage box to put on the tray so our beloved labrador doesn't eat all the meat on the way home from the supermarket again..... Just a few questions, firstly, I've read plenty of pretty poor stories about the 3L common rail engine but from what I can gather it's mostly directed at the earlier models? Wondering if thats right or not. Secondly, I really like the sound of a diesel gas system thats available and am thinking thats probably the next big spend I'd add to the vehicle mainly for the cleaner running/ (hopefully) long term reliability properties they are claiming, a little more power would be nice but I don't find it too bad the way it is, better fuel efficiency would be a plus but I'd be happy if it stayed the same. So the question, is onyone here running a diesel gas system? If so pro's and con's would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Peter

hi Peter and welcome to the forum, instead of diesel/gas you might get better gains from
a chip, egr block and a decent exhaust system, cheaper too, but more of that later.

Welcome to the forum Peter. Let me just say that my mechanical knowledge is sketchy at best but one of the mechanics I used to work with said that, in my vehicle, running the diesel/gas system was an easy way of better more power. To my understanding (and please understand I could be wrong but) this is because gas loves compression.
