We had our mounted under the steering column for quite some time, a simple angle frame needs to be made which hangs from fire wall and dash frame which supports the bonnet latch..
You may find you need an external speaker.

Mines in behind the centre console, Its great as the cord now does not pull hand piece off my lap on steep down hills.

Obviously you need a model with handset controls to do this.

G'day Locky,
heading on over to the introduction page and telling us a bit about self and wagon would be good.
On my old GQ I had it all mounted on an overhead console but in the newer GU I've fitted the radio under the drivers seat and simply hang the speaker and hand unit a bag off my headrest and when I'm using it put the hand unit in the drink holder in the centre console.
Not that tidy but it works for me.
Welcome

I have the unit behind the glovebox, it like the sound comes out the air ducts and the hand piece coming from the centre console.

The main unit on mine is below the dash on the drivers side the mike is to the right of the console.
I'm moving the lot so the passenger can reach the mike leaving me to driving duties only, but still reachable if solo

Im goin handset control, I like what 040FF has done, or u can mount it (handpiece) just about anywhere cos the cords are extendable.

I had a mic extension lead made up for my last 4x4 so I could have the hand piece on the over head console
