Sorry I have not posed a lot since I joined I sort of got a busy with work and family time seems to just fly . any way I would be interested in your opinions on this

Hi I was look at a add in line and some say this is a scam so I am treading careful and will not be replying to it but

this person has got a add for a 4.2 ltr patrol that has been cut down from a wagon to a club cab with a enclosed canopy on it

now it has done 2005 184,000 ks and he wants $47,950 ono

now is that a realistic to ask such a high price for vehicle

here is red book price

Private Price Guide $15,100 - $17,600
* Trade In Price Guide $11,800 - $14,300
* Average Km 140,000 - 230,000
* Price When New $51,990*

ok so if you buy the vehicle how in the hell can you insure it at such a over the market price

4.2 td's command a premium price well above the humble 3 ltr.
I would think a dual cab for that money not an extra cab,
But I love full size utes.
Was going to buy this for $27 3 yrs ago but its a 3ltr

nice looking vehicle the price of cars is crazy some cars just do not hold there value but others seem to do so I agree with the 4.2 ltr being a more expensive a mate has a DX 2005DX 4.2 he is often asked if he want to see it but so far the most he has been offered is $28000 but I saw a 90,000 2006 Toyota landcruser Sahara and the price $65 K

Not much more and you can buy a brand new GX 200 scarry and as I said insurance will not pay those prices

thanks for your input

I just bought a 2004 BF Fairmont 150k for $7000 almost $3500 a year written off and by the time I sell it it will be scrap value

Glad I paid cash

I use caresales.com website when I am looking to buy as you can easily check asking prices from all round OZ.
The value also comes down to what you actually want. It usually costs a lot more to customise/modify a vehicle than it does to buy something exactly how you want it (if you can find one)

The red book price guide for this car is rubbish. They are going for $35k to $45k all day. In the extra cab make sure it has a compliance plate for the Mod and is certified as a chop.

I think his asking price is very high and would say $35k to $40 would be top dollar.

Who did the cut? Has it ever been a mines vehicle. Check owner history.
