Hi People,
Long time reader first time poster.... so please be gentle!
After years of drooling over Patrols  . I now find myself being the proud as punch onwer of a 1998 GU Patto!
To say I am chuffed is an understatement:049: How it came to be is a story unto itself. Starting at Easter this year I couldn't go away with the wife and son to the outlaws due to having to work, at the time I owned a Holden frontera and auto transmission carked it while on the was to telstra shop to arrange a new mobile after the old one died the night before so that was my easter plus catching the flu on the Sunday to top it off! So the fun police return form the outlaws and it is time to put on thinking caps as to we are going to do about it. After a few quotes (and repeated cleaning out the underpants!) we decided it would be better long term for me to just bite the bullet and get a new vehicle so that is how she came to be! ( AND I'M LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT !!!)
Now the the nuts and bolts She is pretty stock standard at the moment and is the TB45 with dual fuel.
Short term plans are to spend a bit of time doing a few things servicing wise just so that I know that they have been done and will also give me spares for things like belts & hoses etc.
Then......
Wire up plugs to the rear and potential charging point for a transportable second battery in the back
Roofrack
Build drawer system with fridge slide
Cargo barrier
Snorkel
Navigation and Comms
Winch
I am sure over the coming months/years I will have many stupid questions and hopefully be able to share knowledge I gain along the way! Hope to see you all out on the tracks.
cheers,
Dan
