Should they play footy on Good Friday?
I say no same as I think they should not play on ANZAC Day.
But hey that's me.
The AFL being the money grabbers they are ,its all about money nothing else
Just a bit of respect

I am from an Irish Catholic family, and my view on this is defiantly against the grain.

I say yes.

So many businesses are open for business on Good Friday, including the casino, albeit from noon only.
So really won't make a difference.
Issue will be, can they fill the seats to make it viable. We'll see.
I'm not for it, but I'm not against it either.

I do miss the Saturday arvo like a ghost town... I remember playing footy for Williamstown back in the late 70's and the shops shut at 12pm and it was so quiet around there.... now that place is nuts on the weekend.

I reckon Family comes first, so public holidays are like gold with respects to time with your kids. Anzac Day is time for reflection on what others have sacrificed to keep us a free nation. A game of footy is as Aussie as it gets (although it is all about money, these days), but I reckon a large portion of the profits from the gate could be donated to Legacy.
