Not sure if I could suggest an Aussie made winch, but I can definitely recommend a Runva winch. I use a EWX12000 lb winch on a ARB Deluxe bar and works a treat. Stays reasonably cool under long periods of winching, as demonstrated on my last outing. For only $699 with rope , I think is well worth the money. From memory I bought it through a reseller on eBay for $650. Limited lifetime warranty. 600amp solenoid 7.2hp motor 233:1 gear ratio.
