Hi Folks

I am just in the process of replacing the ridiculously toy sounding horn on my 2012 patrol and have bought a pair of Hella Strongtones which are 118db. $55 of fleabay for genuine units.

My question is does anyone know the spec of the factory toy horn and whether it is already fitted via a relay?

The supertones come with a relay but I was wondering if this was really necessary? its not as if you'd be driving along with the horn on all the time like you would with spotties (which do need a relay) so the load shouldn't be so great???

any thoughts

Cheers
Mark

Hi Mark if your kit came with the diagram or loom to run the relay then just power up the loom or relay with the factory Positive supply at the factory Horn. Simple enough. Just run the relay.

I changed mine to twin Stebl's and I had to run the relay for it to work.
It was real easy, just followed the diagram on the box.
