Luggage trim removal

Hi,

Anyone got any tips for removing the upper and lower luggage compartment trim on a GU VII wagon? I'm working on the passenger side.

I've removed the rubber door seal and can see a couple of mounting clips on the rear vertical pillar but I'm not sure if these pop off or if they slide down. It looks like you could slide the trim down off the clips, but it's hard to get a good grip and I don't wanna break anything if I'm doin it the wrong way. I've got a set of trim removal tools too but haven't gone too hard with them until I know I'm going about it the right way.

Hoping to remove the trim without breaking too many, or any, clips :)

i picked up a plastic (better than metal) set from autobarn for 15 bucks, 5 tools in total. makes the job very easy

Yeah, got a set from SCA. Don't know how well they'll work with the Patrol clips ..

well yeah, locate the clip, slide your tool under it, pry it away gently. work your way around

Ok, so it's just a matter of working the clip away from the metal pillar, not the trim from the clip?

how did ya go mate. my ones are currently off the vehicle, if you want me to take pics of the reverse side i can do it tonight?

Yeah got the trim off thanks. Worked the first one (lowest) with the tool then just yanked the rest off.
