NEED HELP with tire size

Hi guys, i am about to replace the worn tires on my 03 Gu 4.8l (no lift) with Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ p3's, It's currently running on Std alloys with 285/75/16 see pic, can i go up to 305's with out any trouble? after searching I have read on another forum that I can but i would like to make sure by getting someones experienced opinion other than that of the tire dealer, I am also not sure on the current rim width, i think they are 8 inch, thanks in adavnce kind regards Streetsy

You shouldn't have a problem with 305s mate but they may scrub on the front mudguards

I think the 305s are a 305/70 tyre and therefor No Taller than a 285/75 but are a slightly Wider tyre only.

Yep what MR said....... What o forgot to say was they may rub on full lock.... Due to the extra width.

For example, I have one GQ with 33x12.50x15 fitted, had to remove mudguards due to rubbing on full lock. My other GQ fitted with 285x75x16 do not rub at all.

I think MEGOMONSTER fitted 305s to his GU but can't remember is he had any issues
