Finally have some front recovery points from Threedogs but was a pain in the ass (no fault of 3d's)...

I wanted to know if this is a standard Nissan arrangement?

The passenger side thread plate for the bullbar/recovery point was a perfect channel that you can slide out where as the drivers side was a plate welded which almost looked factory as I have no idea how you can spot weld that plate in on all four corners???

Is that standard, see below???

Long story short, a lot of my threads were severely chewed out from previous owner and I have procrastinated this job for years but finally did it.

Pics below...

Pulled everything off the front, removed bar, removed both thread plates, re welded on some nuts and new bolts, etc...

Had to make up a new (and much stronger than Nissan) plate for the drivers side as well, punched it out but bent it a fair bit. Not the strongest plate in the world!

Easy job but just time consuming!!!!

But...I am one happy camper now that I know the bar is properly on, I have front recovery points and everything was done properly and is safe!!!

Some other pics showing the harsh treatment Harris HardNose has copped as well and also a well deserved good ridance of the Aldi Winch ready for my high mount!!!!!!

Just seems like a silly thing to do.

The slide out channel on the other side is ten times better!

The slide out piece is part of the fitting kit for the bull bar.

Why not on both sides though?

It's a symmetrical set up, both sides exactly the same as far as I can tell???

But also there was no third hole/thread on the passenger side plate (three on the drivers) as standard which would mean only two bolts holding a recovery point on that side too which is not good.

I put a third one on the channel I removed so the weight is distributed between three triangle arrangement bolt set up as opposed to two bolts which in my opinion is not safe.

Nissan run metric fine which is the welded in plate on the drivers side.
For some reason after market standard is unf.. So when ever a plate needs to be added they use unf..

A pain but normal

Depends on where the aftermarket slide out one on the passenger side came from.... Got one of those from patrolapart which had mounts for three supplied bolts
