Guys im stuck.

I bought a leather interior out of Ti for my ST 98 model GU.

It all goes in right, except for the moulding around the interior door handle!

Has anyone done this conversion?

Do i need new door handles?

the Ti moulding wont fit the original ST handle, it seems to high up

help???

yep the clips, and door trim are lined up perfectly. the rail at the top of the door trim sits flush with the window as it should

Take some measurements of the holes to see if your old door trim measures up the same as the new one. I'm watching this thread as its yet another thing I wouldn't mind doing down the track to my old shitter...And get leather seats to knock Mick of his horse :)

What did it cost for the parts too mate?

As for the issue. Measure up the door trims too like I said to be sure. Also is this issue the same on all doors?

The door trims are different Tonk, your original factory door trim hole is a smaller size (does not reach as low) and its a different shape (tapers in at the front) see pic below of what you removed......

yep that what my original ones look like.

so is that to say..

1. the door handles are different on a Ti
2. They are positioned differently on the actual door on the Ti.

My guess would be the first, because the cost of changing the door weld just for Ti's doesn't make sense.

YOU WOULD THINK if you were a rational thinker, that the nissan factory would keep the welds the same, and alter the design of the handle

if its the actual weld of the door handle bracket that is different, im screwed man

I dont think you are. .. I cant remember how the handle actually mounts but I think some slight modification to the mount could be done to resolve it. I would do this rather than cut the door card.

Mate i tell ya, i did a little bit of experimenting, with the headliner (roof liner) That upholstery paint costs a bit, i went to bunnings and got $11 cans of plastic spray paint called 2XL in the locked up cabinet. i hit it with a black gloss (3 cans) and it came up an absolute treat
