How many detect or pan for gold ??

Been dying to do this for years but never had a chance,
still fascinated buy the chance of finding another "Hand of Faith"
Was going to buy a MineLab 5000 I think it was but very $$$$$ at the time
what's the technology like now for those in the know?

Lots of people pan/detect up my way. I know of one bloke who last year found a nugget worth 50k just out of town.

We have gold on our property and all to often the dogs will go off and sure enough there will be a poacher who has come through our fence and on to our property with a shovel and pan.

Just as a side note if it was easy everyone would be doing it.

Wouldn't it just. It gets me pretty fired up that people think because its a wire fence they can just go under or over it.
