I honestly can't remember the last car I had where I had to put the key in the door lock to lock/unlock it.

The patrol only came with one standard key. It does have central locking and immobilizer, but did it cone out of factory with remote entry.
Any ideas where to get one if there is one available, don't really want to go to Nissan.

Its a early series 1 ST

Cheers all.

I think Nissan is the only answer, can be pricey try Essendon Nissan about $130 I think I paid and recoded for free
saw the guys today and they look forward to discussing your needs with them

Series 1 patrol's didn't come out with keyless entry. You will need an aftermarket keyless entry unit and an actuator for the drivers door.

I think the aftermarket is the way to go, might even work out a little cheaper.

Had the same issue with my patrol gu, I went and got an after market. If its the same by memory I had to get an additional central locking motor to activate by remote.
due the old technology. But see how you go...

OK, just got of the phone with Nissan and my did come with a remote, but not a keyed one, just a remote on its own. They want $172 for it and another $70 odd to program it. I think the aftermarket option is best this time, but the other mods have to be first, of course.

I bought a warlock kg400 kit from jb hifi. Go into my profile and there is a link to how to wire it in.

To programme it they just somehow insert it in and out of ignition so the remote leans the code to pay $70 for that is just robbery IMO
Did you ring Essendon Nissan?
Spare parts guy did mine on the spot no charge

Yeah Essendon. There's no key, just a remote. Where would you like me to insert the remote.

Has anyone tried one of the learning ones available on eBay? I want another remote but don't want to part with $130 odd dollars for one.
