My battery had gone completely dead overnight, i checked to see if anything was left on, nothing was.

So out came the multimeter it turns out my alternator is drawing 2amps when the car is off.

Has anyone else experienced this? Can my alternator guy fix it? Or is it time for a new one?

It a GQ TD42, vac pump on the back.

It's a diode pack in the alternator that has died, can be fixed. I've got one here that has the same thing I've been meaning to rebuild. I just bought a new higher amperage one when mine died.

I took the alt to my alternator guy he said, it needs a new reg and diode pack. The problem is there is no part numbers on the alternator would anyone know the part numbers and a supplier?
