So I now can't open the rear rhs door right up. As the 35inch BFG hits the tail light. I have a Ferrets rear light mount which spaces the tyre outwards but need to move it across towards the centre of the car about 10mm I reckon to clear the light. Maybe more...Other than getting a rear bar which I don't want to do, any ideas? I can weld but have to think of a way of making something up which will work.
This gives me the irits. I make one thing better and it stuffs another. The joys of our 4by's.

I'm not sure how ferrets lights attach but can you off set the mount threw some shs?

Thats how I need to do it. Off set the mount, but the OEM wheel bracket bolts right through the Ferrets spacer and into the door. So off setting may prove to be more difficult than first thought.

Hey mate. I think my ARB wheel off set bracket sets the wheel to the left to compensate for that. This is from what I remember being told when it was fitted.
Do not quote me on that though.
The cars sitting at home I'll have a look when I get there from work.

You'll need to come out 30mm and up 65mm from memory,
so a piece of rhs with some Bolts instead of nuts may be the go
That's what the Kaymar bracket did. easy to replicate

Was thinking if there is room, have 2 studs welded in how ever far over needed, then use origonal bolts to hold mount to door the put the bracket onto the new studs..

Lol. I though about these things as I did have one but I must have gotten rid of it as I can't find it anywhere. This apparently works to solve my issue. Out and up...

Hey mate just checked my wreck at home, and no, the bracket I have doesn't seem to solve the issue you have. At least I don't think so...

Thanks Eric. Do you mind if I come around a pillage the guards and rear bar off your wreck? While I'm at it, the interior too? Lol. Seen a good upgrade for my shitter here that would be good to do...

Feel free mate! She's just sitting in the driveway collecting dust and rain doing nothing anyway. At least you'll get more use out of it.

Yep, m10 bolts into door, then studs to mount the wheel carrier a bit further along.
The gq is the same

Sorry mate, I just looked at the first pic, didn't see all the different holes on the one side.
Having said that, it's a lot of force for a little bit of sheet metal..

Mudski I have 35's on steel rims and have a custom bracket for the rear that works but after being told the rear door can't handle the weight and will crack and root the door I'd rather build or buy a rear bar. Nearly bought a sweet rear bar at the ARB garage sale last weekend for $1600 but was too slow deciding.

Dam. Unlucky.
Well yea, rear bar time or new door.
Once steel starts it takes a lot if time and effort to weld it and tempering , as just welding it will create brittle points and it'll just keep going..

The Rear door cracking is a known issue with larger tyres on the door I've seen 3 in person one was only with 33s.
I wouldn't waste my time fixing it if the tyre is going back on the door just get a new one but if you get a rear bar to put it on a fix may hold.
