Has anyone bought some replacement led lights for the interior of their patrol and if so where from? Are they any good and can I wire a led strip into the interior light for extra lighting in the back?

I have a red/white and chrome number from Britelightes led, all I did was remove the old and wire in the new,
to avoid any drilling only one screw hole was used but its never moved and sits flush,
Size wise its about 100mm in diameter so very bright when on white, My cargo area has 90 led reverse light in place
again very bright. I don't work out of the back so I don't get an insect problem with the lights.
I think Winnie just put in some strip leds.
Pic is of the front one

They are Awesome! i paid bucks for mine but they are cheap as chips these days. They are an LED replacement hard wired into the festoon that normally goes into your light slot.

Without starting another thread, what do the Podders have for lighting in their pods, and where do you have your on/off switch?

Patrol-guy, if I got a couple of these, would that be bright enough lighting in the pod of my ex Telstra 4.2, or do you reckon a couple of strip lights?

Heres a pic the rectangle one is similar to my cargo area one ,
and the round one again similar to my general interior light.
Both produce bright white light

It has double sided tape on the back, I managed to sorta stick it up so it doesn't foul on the switch.

Hi Rossco,
I have a strip on each lift up door on the pod.
They are wired into the original switches for the old lights and the
hot water basin, which is gathering dust in the shed somewhere.

Mate all I can say is it lights up the interior of my GU a lot better than before. Someone else may have a better idea of the lighting benefits for your vehicle.

Cob is led... It means chip on board.

Yes COB does mean chip on board googling will confirm that. lol I've been using them for a few years but if I got technical with how it works and the differences in COB to old school leds which are very different it would only confuse the crap out of people. The copy and paste to show the differences plus the pics I posted.

LED(light emitting diode) is new technology with advantage of saving energy and very long lifespan. But all LED lightsource can not be faultless especially SMD, HP, flux LED etc. Compare to traditional lighting such as fluorescent lamp, as it is super bright in a small size, it cause uncomfortable glare. In case of no diffused optical lens used, such LEDs usually cause glare and zebra strips . But when optical lens or cover used, it will cause light loss when LED beam pass through this lens or cover.

COB LED is multi chips packaged, it can 10 times more increase lighting area, so it avoid uncomfortable glare by the maximum extent.
Lightspot use small size of chips to make COB LED package.
By now, for small size chip, ?some famous LED chip manufacturer can reach 249lm/watt @ 20mA. But big size LED chip can only reach 161lm/watt @350mA. The light efficacy decrease when chip size is bigger. Also when LED driver increase current to LED, the light efficacy per watt is even low.

The COB with small size chips will be a trend of LED light source package.

get some clear 3M double sided tape and tape it to the clear lense
