445444454544546Well here goes my build Thread: I bought the GQ shorty off an old guy like me LOL about going on 3 years now, It was in standard condition never off roaded. He even didnt know that it had the factory sway bar disconnect . It had a TB42 petrol engine in it.

Looks tops! Were you experimenting with your bonnet scoops and Intercooler there between photos?

I think someone might have graffiti'd on your spare wheel cover too...LOL!

The suspension was all standard so i added a EFS 2" lift with all superior engineering lower control arms, bent upper control arms, heavy duty adj panard rods & steering rods. Also a set of superior 2' radius arms.

Then i pulled the TB42s petrol engine out & fully rebuilt a TD42 silver top with brand new GU turbo head. UFI 18G turbo & cross country top mount intercooler with Diesel Central DC6 injector pump. Also a viper clutch with billet flywheel which i had 3Kg taken off.

Hi BenK, I was going to run twin Toyota scoops & ducked it under the bonnet to the intercooler but to much work & not enough clearance so decided to use the scoop that came in the cross country intercooler kit. Glad I did because it does a lot better job.

Wasnt happy with running the standard filter so running a pod style for more air flow to keep the UFI turbo feed better.

Hey lightspeed how do you find the superior engineering engine mounts,do you get any vibration transferring into the cab,i am running a set in my GQ and i seem to get some vibration on idle,i haven't driven on the road yet my car isn't registered,im just interested to see if there is any vibration while driving.

Hi Roscoe. My mounts are not superior ones they are Race breed mounts, they are pretty much the same though. They don't feel as smooth as factory mounts & yes you can feel slight vibrations through them but at least they don't break like factory ones do. With the power & touque my patrol has I don't think factory ones would last long.

Haha Lucky you, I'm to poor to have change in my pocket this thing costs me to much. :(

Got my fuel tanks, seats & turbo engine swap blue platted the other day. So all is legal for the boys in blue. LOL. Cost me $200 for 5 mods which was good.

Fitted the new flex superior front sway bar kit the other day, didn't bother with the rear as the factory disconnect & Hduty whiteline sway bar does the job.

Wow that is so cheap! Is the cost associated with the type of mod or its it like $40 per check or something?

Not sure mate, he did the 2 after market fuel tanks, 2 seats, aftermarket 18g turbo, td42 engine swap which he said didn't really need doing but he did it anyway ( the transport department said I needed it ) He also plated it for the change from 5 seater to 2 seater for $200.
