Hi

We have 3 kidlets that need tethered car restraints. Could someone please inform us which patrol year model has 60/40 split 2nd row seats? Do these have 3 anchor points?

thanks

I can't speak for the latest Y62, but the two previous Y60 (GQ) and Y61 (GU) do not as I understand. Pretty sure they are both 50/50.

We have 3 kids all using tethered child restraints in the middle row of our patrol. We've got a crab bar fitted and have all three seats anchored to the crab bar. Having the crab bar means we can use the middle seat even with the 50/50 split in the seat because the anchor point is level with the top of the seat therefor the anchor straps have no chance of slipping down the split. Works well for us.

How old are your kids? What model Patrol were you looking at? What are you going to use it for, is it a full time family car or a getaway machine?
I get 3 kids into my GQ on trips away.....

So we don't spam you sale thread gef, I'm wondering out your no access to rear seats issue?
While kids are in car seats they can't use the 3rd row, so if you had no access to them is it that bad??

Once the first child is old enough to be out of the child seat simply remove crab bar, fit remaining 2 Childers to either side and eldest can sit center or rear.
Unless you have older kids already then forget that lol..

The biggest pita I have found with the gq and children is no child lock doors.
We just lock them manual now as we load the kids. Not the best option but it works.

Others say disconnect the inside handle. But I car pool so that wasn't for me

When I was investigating the use of booster seats in my GQ because I had 2 kids at the time in them (I have 3), I changed the type of booster seat we were using.
Having spoken to a couple of professional seat fitting companies, the advice I was given was to move away from the tethered (anchored) style booster seat. I had figured they were safer because of the anchor but was told they have the anchor because the seat is so heavy and would crush the child in an accident. Really, a booster seat is just designed to position the child so they can use the regular set belt so I bought a couple of lightweight style ones. Sooo much better.
Ideally I would prefer that there were lap-sash belts in all 3 rear seats but because I only use mine for going off road and into the high country, I figured the risk exposure was minimal.
