We painted our old standard alloy bar recently.

Saving up for a steel bar but wanted to make the Patrol look a bit nicer in the meantime.

Was quoted $200ish for sandblasting/powder coating which we decided wasn't worth it since we'll be upgrading at some point anyway. Plus we would have had to take the bar off for them.

Total cost of painting: approx 60 bucks - and it looks sooo much better!

Sanded the bar down by hand, took about an hour between 2 of us - big difference before (right) /after (left)

Satin black finish, started lightly:

Done! :D

We used 1 can of Dy-Mark Etch Primer and nearly 3 cans of White Knight Epoxy Enamel in Satin Black.

Doesn't even look like an alloy bar.

They do look good in black, got the same/similar bar on me old clunker but the bars on the wings have been chopped off. Also need to cut off the cow catcher, mines a little bent now

Thanks everyone! Definitely happy with the result.

Clunk, you mean the lowest bar, under the main part of the bull bar? I wouldn't mind taking that off either and mine's straight lol

My best friend is chassis black. I use it on the bar, and sliders, when they start looking a bit ratty - on goes another coat
