G'day Matt.
The Bridal track is closed and has been due to a land slide that dropped a 50ton boulder on the track at Monaghans Bluff.

"The Bridle Track at Monaghans Bluff is closed indefinately due to a rock fall and extensive damage to the road - as seen in this photo.
Preferred routes from Bathurst to Hill End are either via the historic village of Sofala, 86km with approximately 12km of unsealed road, or 77km via Turondale which is all sealed.
The historic Bridle Track along the Macquarie and Turon River, unsuitable for caravan and trailers, is no longer a through road.
Further enquiries contact the Visitor Information Centre on 1800 681 000."
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Cheers,
Rob

I forgot to mention that you can still drive the track from either end but when you start getting close to Monaghans Bluff it is single lane and no where to turn around.
We drove it from Hill end to the foot hills before Monhagans Bluff which took about 20 mins.
Cheers,
Rob

I realise this reply is 3 days late but for others reference….
you can drive down from Hill End and cross the river before Mongahans onto Root Hog FT and get back to Bathurst down Freemantle Rd. The river crossing is usually not too bad but be careful if there has been rain.
It's still a very worthwhile drive and you can still access some great camping spots.
