Hello

Amongst other things I am considering swapping the existing Nissan CD/Radio out of a 2012 Gu8 and replacing it with a Sat Nav system that can also take a reverse camera. I have priced an Eclipse system which Nissan use but these cost around $2000. I am also toying with the idea of just sticking a Hema HN7 in and connecting the camera to that.......but for now......Have any of you had any experience with any of the systems currently on ePay like these for around $500?

They look ok and should be a fairly straight forward swap.

and also there's this one which has the hema type iGo mapping.

If you have one of these will you let me know how you find it?

Cheers
Mark

Bloody Murphy :(

Last night my screen went to black and the Nav function stopped working, the radio continued to play. Turn off and back on and all was good for about 1/2 a minute, then dead again. Tried this morning and it appears to work OK for a minute, then screen to black again. Oh well got two years out of it.

I now have a paper weight.

I have the Eonon M1.

Not a branded unit but it does what I need and is still working so far. It has its hiccups. on the odd occassion it will switch over o the GPS by itself and then come up with some read error about the SD card. Also the radio reception is bloody horrible compared to the OEM unit. I've even added and extra antenna and a signal booster and its still crap. But it had everything in it, the GPS program I have no idea on what it is but it works around Melbourne quite good. Blue tooth works good, reve camera works good, I have even hooked up a front camera for when we go out bush which is activated via an auxiliary port on the unit. Its not the best, I got what I paid for. I just cannot justify spending 2K or there abouts on a branded unit.

Cheers.
Mark.

I wish I was as impressed with Eonon as you Mark. Below pic shows what my M1 is doing these days. Occasionally I use it as a step-up, or wheel chok.
This is the 4th Eonon unit I've had with warranty issues. And one day I said thats it, enough, out goes Eonon and now happy with a factory unit again.
Problems I've had. Screen died, sound goes within 5 minutes of unit on, have to completely reset it to fix the issue. In generally very slow all 'round. For example pressing the next song button, takes 3-4 seconds to actuate.
Although their shop is friendly, and they will do anything, just for you not to leave negative feedback, including super fast express post to australia from HK, I'll give them that credit. But it's just very annoying.
But what Mark said, there is no way I'm paying 2k, even 1k for a branded deck. But then I get stung with cheap chinese s***... Catch 22.

Yep, today I reinstalled my genuine Nissan unit. Luckily I had a Nokia car kit with Bluetooth so installed that as well so still have hands free phone. Big disappointment is no ability to plug in the USB full of tunes. Oh well back to the CDs.

Run mapping off my 10" tablet, both Sygic and Oziexplorer.
