Ohhhhhh yeeeeeaaaaahhhhhh baby .... Finally some level of practicality from the government .... does make you wonder though - they obviously have sorted out all other national issues (homelessness, child abuse, murder, the budget, infrastructure, taxes, health reforms, education, welfare, etc, etc) to have time on their hands to discuss bullbars!! Honestly, it is a bit of a joke ....

Thanks for the update Bob... and good to note the wording that 99% of the Media Morons wouldn't mention before.
It was only ever media speculation that there would be a ban on Bullbars. There was never any mention of banning from the Government sources but not saying there wasn't some merit in making a hell of a noise just to remind them we were watching I 'spose.

maybe the general publics opinion on this all would be the way to go! Politicians really wouldn't make up the majority of ppl with bull bars surely!

I just think as a general rule they should ask those who use them all the time & its part of their everyday persona so to speak, rather than just throw it around in Government!
Sounds like you are a lucky man :-)

Call me a cynic but I think I agree with GU4u. I read the Ministers statement and it imply's a lot but it also leaves big wide gaps open eg "It will not affect vehicles in use today." "would be phased in from 2013 to 2019 and apply only to new vehicles." is this not a double standard? it has to be one or the other and I'll let you guess which one. Then theres the classic Government statement: “Let’s be clear about this, the Government will not ban bull bars,” How many times have you heard "Lets be clear about this" only to have the exact opposite happen?
This is being driven by city dwelling bureaucrats that have never seen a dirt road or wild animal in there lives and to make matters more bizarre it is based on European statistics!!!

As I stated previously in this thread, it is the mindset of a few hundred moorons whom act like "I have bullbar I will intimidate you!" and "that's why I have a bullbar" that also feed the beauracrats miss informed decisions.
