stuck in fifth

vehicle parked up motor off and in reverse,
tried selecting neutral without using clutch=seems I have picked fifth up and its jammed in, with gear lever in neutral, suspect something to do with lockout between fifth and reverse?? 4.2 patrol 2005 ute

can you get it out of gear while rocking the car back and forth.also mate do you want to jump over to the intro section and say g'day,just polite and all.

will not come out by rocking, gear lever is in neutral and cant be moved into any gear ,but fifth engaged I think the top of the gear box has to come off to realign selectors
