Hey guys just starting this thread to see what's possible using body filler. I'm in the process of stripping my truck to paint it and want to fill the bit on the rear wheel arches where the plastic trim goes and make it the same height as the body and spray it so that you'd would have never known it was there. Just looking for some advice as what to use and looking to see if it's possible to do using just body filler

Hey Chris
My understanding is that any body filler over about 5mm thick is in danger of cracking. Filling in large areas has the added risk of the filler just falling out in one large section due to the weight of the filler (depending of course what it keys into). I think that in a 4x4 situation where the vehicle is subjected to a lot of vibrations that it would be wise not to go too thick a,d fiberglass is the best option
Cheers
Adam
