GU owners, just wondered if anyone has a GU with 265/75/16 printed as a factory size on their tyre placard ?

BTW, Your tyre placard should be a sticker on the inside of your glovebox lid.

Thanks Steve, yeh same here, ive heard some GUs had 75/16 profile tyres listed on the sticker, and as I understand it, this is what your tyre placard needs to read if you want to run 33s legally, so a new sticker is in order me finks (lol), but first I need to know what model it came out on ? (if at all)

It will be interesting to see what you find out , maybe its a model never delivered to Australia ? You could always make your own sticker :) how's the new bar look ?

Awesome !, its finally all finished but just needs powder coating, im very happy to say the least, and Scotty has been "unbelievably" patient with me (changing/adding stuff all the time), and has put in hours of help and welding

Quick sneak peak on the final outcome (yet to be powder coated) for you Steve.......

Mine says 70r16 as well. Odd there's a difference?

Nice looking bar as well. No more worrying about ripping off your bumper now.

Me and Steve were discussing this last night. The utes when sold with split rims ran a 7.50r16 tyre so believe the tyre placard is to reflect this on the utes.

My ute has the 75 size on the placard, same as Matts.

Must be the utes with the wide wheel option that have it.

Mine says 265 x 70R16 but I run 285 x 75R16 as this size makes my speedo at 100kph run on the GPS 100.02kph, when I put this on the exploreoz forum years ago a member there by the name of truckster(who's abit of a expert on patrols) inform me that 285 x 75 is what the patrols run in Europe and that's why my speedo is spot on. To import the patrols into OZ they have to put the smaller size on .Must have been some stupid decision a pencil pusher made on a low work load day when he was having a brain pause I reckon

My tire placard also says 265/70/16, but I'm running 285/75/16 and there's no real issues turning them, just a bit of a slug 80-100

My 09 Do reads 235/80/16 but has 265/70/17. The rims are standard and speedo matches gps, can't see that lasting for too long:o

G'day Johno mate!
Our GU's are some 15 + years older and their tyre stickers are up inside the glovebox roof from memory. Our tyres obviously aren't factory anymore so we just read the sides of the tyre brands for manufacturers specs there. Cheers!

Original sticker on my 2006 DX leafy ute said 7.5R16
72512

Current sticker says 265/75 16R

Not cheap though! :)

So by the way, the Nissan part number for the Genuine Patrol Ute Tyre placard that reads 265/75/16

Is 99090-1Y404 , should your ....ahem....ute, say needs a replacement glovebox, and you can only obtain a sedan one with the smaller size on the sticker
